Ashley Norfleet

Ashley Norfleet, Assistant Editor

Ashley Norfleet is a 17-year-old senior who is currently in her fourth semester of journalism, serving as the assistant editor this year. Norfleet was born in Cary, North Carolina but soon moved to Ocean Isle Beach. Norfleet is in various clubs such as DECA, Key Club, Robotics, Scuba Club, and LARE. Norfleet is also one of the main organizers for TroZone where she plans the themes for games and runs the Instagram page @trozone.wbhs.

“I love being involved with the school,” said Norfleet. “It makes me feel important, and I always know my voice will be heard by someone.”

After high school, Norfleet would like to attend college at Auburn University or University of North Carolina at Wilmington to get her PhD in Marine Biology. After that, Norfleet would like to have a shark research center in the Galapagos. It has always been her dream to help the ocean. She believes that ocean life is just as important as life on earth.

“Growing up at the beach has really impacted my feelings on the ocean,” said Norfleet. “I want to make it my passion to help these wonderful creatures and possibly save the world.”
