On Tuesday, January 23rd, the men’s varsity basketball team went to New Hanover High School to play in their sixteenth game of the season and seventh conference game.
Once the clock hit 7:30 pm the Trojans and the Wildcats stepped on the floor ready to play. The ref throws the ball up and just like that they are off, New Hanover wins the jump ball and right away they score. By the end of the first half the score was favoring the Wildcats as they head into the third quarter leading 42-12.
While the first half was not pretty for the Trojans they did begin to pick it up by only allowing their opponents to score 11 points in the third quarter and 7 in the fourth quarter. Despite all their good effort in the second half it was not enough to get a win for the trojans, the final score was 60-27. The Trojans will continue to work hard no matter the score and are preparing for their game against the Topsail Pirates on Friday, January 26th.
