On Monday, September 30th, the JV women’s Volleyball team went head to head with the Laney Bucaneers. The game started at 4:30 and both of these teams of young athletes were ready to compete. The game started with long rallies and each team was scoring back and forth, but the bucs were beginning to take over and the Trojans were starting to lose their energy and momentum. The first set ended with the score being 16-25, Laney won.
Although the first set did not go in the favor of the Trojans, they came together in their huddle and continued to encourage each other and say what needed to be done better and how they could fix it, so they went into the second set with better attitudes. The crowd was also very enthusiastic and into the game. The set started off very sloppy for the Trojans as they got down ten points to start the game but they continued to fight and cut the lead down but it was not enough to secure a win and the set ended 25-20 in favor of the Bucs, which ended the game with a win for Laney high school 2-0.
