On October 11th West Brunswick’s Key Club arrived at Union Elementary School to volunteer and assist in the fall festival.
The festival started at 4:30 as the Union Dolphins lined up to purchase their tickets. As you walk through the school there are a variety of things to do inside each classroom. A game of “feed the pig”, a haunted house, face painting, “pumpkin putt putt”, a photo booth, games, candy and more.
As you make your way outside as the sun sets, the temperature is cooling down and there are even more things to do outside. Inflatables, food vendors including “Captain John’s seafood” and “Chocolate and S’more”, a video game truck, hair extensions and coloring and other things for kids to do.
Key club volunteers could be found around the school helping. Sophomore Taylor Hughes and Sophomore Rivers Hicks could be found assisting in the hair coloring and extensions. It was 3 tickets for any color of your choice to be sprayed in or clipped into your hair.
Junior Connor Wilkerson and Junior Gavin Gregory could be found by the inflatable slides outside assisting and helping kids pay their tickets to go down the slide keeping the line in order.
Sophomore Jaylynn Barron and Sophomore Blayden Ludlum could be found helping assist in games and pumpkin painting getting tickets and locating kids to their spots renewing them with any paint, or water they may need for their brushes.
After an afternoon filled with lots of fun and activities for these parents, friends, and family it was a successful afternoon for Union Elementary school and a great place for our key club members to volunteer and help in the community.
