In their match against Laney High School on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, the West Brunswick Varsity Boys Soccer team was defeated 0-6.
The game had numerous close shots, and the team showed effort, teamwork, and the ability to deal with adversity. Laney controlled possession of the ball throughout the game, but they were frequently stopped by our defense.
While senior Brayden Griffith stayed to improve his goalie skills approaches while preparing for the second half, the rest of the team went to the locker room at halftime. Each half was basically identical due to Laney scoring three goals in each half. Although our team didn’t win, they should poise and persistence while facing a challenging teams. The defenders worked as hard as they could to keep the ball away from the goal, while the strikers had a great game keeping the ball down field.
