On November 4th, Waccamaw School hosted its annual fall festival for its K-8th students, family and friends from 4:30-7:30.
The festival started at 4:30 and the Waccamaw Eagles family, students and friends lined up to purchase tickets to support their school, and get into the fall spirit. There are many activities you could find along each hallway, outside, and the gym. You could visit the pumpkin patch and grab a pumpkin, have your face painted, win some tasty cupcakes and small cakes at the “cake walk”, play candy corn putt putt, corn hole, walk through the haunted trail and have a scare, get on the hayride, and so much more!
As you make your way outside, there is a huge inflatable that everyone greatly enjoyed. You can also find a variety of food vendors such as Blondiez donuts, Tom’s Coffee truck and Kona ice. The kids enjoyed making their own snow cone flavors at the Kona ice truck.
Finding your way back inside the school, many of the Waccamaw staff could be found around the school. They took time to decorate their classrooms and help get kids involved and excited in the games.
As you make your way into the gym, it’s filled with many more activities. volunteer Haley Long, could be found painting faces and making you into a pumpkin, a cat, a scarecrow and more. Teachers Leslie Raynor and Lexi Chavis could be found making tasty cotton candy. There was also a pumpkin painting contest where pumpkins that had been painted by the kindergarten-2nd grade students were displayed and you could cast your vote for the best pumpkin.
Laughter fills the air and smiles are on the children’s faces but the festival comes to an end at 7:30. It was a successful night for Waccamaw School, and a great place for everyone to get together and enjoy a fall afternoon.
