Getting a dark tan can be someone’s main goal. There are many ways with the sun to achieve a bronzed look. Is it important that no matter which way you do it you do it safely avoiding skin damage.
When using the summer sun to get tan you would want to use the right hours for tanning or it can cause sun damage. Looking at the weather app and choosing the right times when the UV isn’t too high is always a good idea.
“I always go to tan during the morning because I feel that I can get tan without having the harsh uv that around like 12-3 gives you.” Says junior Tess Caron.
While also being aware of the right times to go you want to be aware and always use sunscreen. Using sunscreen can even make it easier to tan, it blocks the harmful rays that are causing you to get burnt, but lets you still get the bronzed look. Making sure to always reapply the sunscreen also is important and a step someone people are likely to forget.
“A Lot of people don’t use sunscreen because they think they won’t get tan if they use it. “Said junior Ava Tarman.” I think it’s really dumb because they’re getting burnt and then the tan that they did have just peels off.”
Tanning oils are a very popular choice when trying to get tan from the sun. They work by causing your skin to absorb more of the sun’s UV rays and achieve a darker tan with a shorter amount of time needed in the sun.
“Tanning oils are definitely the key for getting tan.” Said junior Sophie Erwin. “They work really fast and really well.”
