On February 26th, our JV Trojans baseball team triumphed over the Whiteville Wolfpack in a thrilling 11-10 victory. The game played over seven innings, which showcased the Trojan’s resilience and determination. The Wolfpack struck first, scoring two runs in the second inning to take a 2-0 lead. However the Trojan’s were not hesitant to battle back, tying the game at 2-2.
Freshman Kaleb Faulders delivered a spectacular pitching performance, holding the Wolfpack to just two runs over four consecutive innings. His control and precision were key to keeping the Trojan’s in the game. Meanwhile, freshman Griffin Cox shinned at the plate, going three for four with multiple RBI’s, consistently driving in the runners. The Trojan’s consistent hitting and strong defense kept them in the game, never allowing them to feel truly “out” despite facing some challenges.
The game remained close throughout, with both teams trading blows. After three and a half hours of intense pay, the bottom of the seventh inning proved decisive. With two outs, a passed ball led to a crucial error, as the catcher’s throw to first base sailed wide, allowing two additional runs to score. This gave the Trojan’s the decisive lead, securing their hard-fought 11-10 victory. The team’s perseverance and teamwork were evident throughout the game in a well deserving win. This showed the Trojan’s determination, skill, and the ability to perform under pressure.
