On Tuesday, March 4th, the men’s varsity baseball team traveled all the way to East Bladen High School. It was the Trojans first away game of the season and adjusting to a new environment can be difficult and change how you play. This was their second time playing East Bladen this season and the Trojans were riding a high by starting the season off 2-0 and beating the Eagles 5-1 in their last game.
To start off the game the opposing pitcher had 3 strike outs and only allowing one player from the trojans to get on base. The trojans matched the defense though, and pitcher Garrett Powell held them to no hits. Both teams were lacking on the offensive side with no scoring until in the third inning a player from the Eagles got walked and made his way to third. While on third, the pitcher over threw third base and he made it home.
The trojans didn’t end up with the win but they kept the game close the entire time and they played hard.
