On March 26th, men’s varsity lacrosse gears up for a game against Marysville Monarchs from Ohio. The match was competitive with a finishing score of 7-13, sadly losing this tough match.
From the first play of the game, it was clear Marysville came ready to play, putting early pressure on the Trojans. The Marysville Monarchs traveled down from Ohio to compete in this non-conference game. During the first half, both teams were playing competitively and skillfully keeping the score within a goal’s reach of being in the lead. As the scoreboard signaled it was halftime, both teams hustled off the field for water and a new game plan.
With the start of the second half, the Monarchs were strictly business. Slowly beating down the Trojans defense, they scored goal after goal.
From the sun shining down to the sunset over the field, it was clear the MVP of the game was senior Harry Doherty, leading the game with 3 goals and 2 assists. The remaining number of the goals were scored by sophomore Brayden Collins with 2 goals, and both senior Zach Daley and Sam Cotton with 1 goal.
Despite the loss, the effort and energy on the field displayed the growing skills of the team and a growing bond between the players.
