On Friday, September 5th, West Brunswick’s Varsity Football team stepped on the North Myrtle’s field to face the Chiefs. Everyone patiently waited for kickoff to take place at 7:30pm. At 7:30, West fans roared as the game began.
The Trojans struck by scoring a touchdown in the first quarter putting in a couple points before halftime. Anticipation built up as the two teams went back and forth. The Trojans missed a field goal point resulting with the score of 10-6.
After an amazing halftime performance, the Chiefs remained to pull ahead. Trojans scored another touch down in the beginning of the third quarter. Another field goal was then missed by the Trojans, leaving the score at 17-12. The crowd still remained hopeful and encouraging.
As the anticipation built up, Trojans still did not give up. The Chiefs scored in the beginning and end of the fourth quarter. The final score was 24-12. Although the Trojans had their first loss of the season, the team and their fans still remained positive.
West is excited to see what the rest of the season will bring them as they will continue to work hard. We wish them the best of luck.
