On Tuesday, October 7th, the men’s varsity soccer team hosted a home game against the men’s varsity team from Laney at 6 pm. Before both teams were ready to play, they both started warming up on the field with their team so they could hopefully take a win.
When the game started, before both teams were called out on the field, the teams took a minute to show appreciation to the refs. Then both teams got their lineup called, and all the players went on to the field in a line with their teams. When all the players got onto the field, everyone in the stands and on the field stood up and put their hands over their hearts, and listened to the national anthem get played.
Following the anthem, both teams returned to their benches for a final pep talk to get mentally prepared. With energy and determination, the players took their positions on the field, ready for the game to begin.
When the ref blew the _ Laney kick the ball to his team to start the game. With both team running as fast as they could to try to win the first quarter, Laney took a lead with the score being 0 to 0 by the end of the first quarter.
The Trojans went back to their locker room to talk and come up with better playes and _ to win the second and final quarter. The _ stayed on the field and seat on the benches and highed fived each other for winning the first quarter. They came up with playes so they could take home the second and final quarter.
Both teams went into their team huddle for the last time of the night. To listen to their coach give them a final pep talk before the final quarter started.
Both teams went back onto the field into their positions to try to win the final quarter. But this time the teams had to switched sides of the field because it was the final quarter. Number 11 kicked the ball to his team to start the final quarter of the night. With both team running as fast as they could to try to win the first quarter, Laney took a lead with the score being 0 to 5 by the end of the final quarter.
Even though the Trojans lost they still had their heads high and highed fived the other team. And to show their thanks to the refs they went to the middle of the field and highed fived all the refs that were there that night. Because they know this game showed them what they need to work on so they can win their next game.
