West’s show choir, also known as Harmony in Motion, came in first at regionals in March, and is continuing on to state competition April 28th. They won with the superior score of 95 and they hope to also take first place at state.

Harmony in Motion came in first at regionals, but their score is the third highest out of all the regional competitions statewide. Even though their score wasn’t the highest, Harmony in Motion still believes that they have what it takes to win the state competition.

“Art should be an expression of one’s being; however, competing is something that students are more excited about, so I’m glad to give them the opportunity to do so,” Mrs. Harton expressed.

Members of the show choir really enjoy competition and take it very seriously.

“Competition is encouraging,” said sophomore Moriah Fowler, “because even though we’re competing there’s a sense of ‘we’re in this together’ and it’s great.”
