  • Summer Ventures in Science and Mathematics 2019

 

Summer ventures is a cost-free, statewide science and math enrichment program for students with proven academic ability, motivation in the STEM fields of study, and emotional maturity.

The online application may be found: https://www.ncssm.edu/summerventures The application period for 2019 opens October 15,2018 and the deadline for submitting summer of 2019 applications is January 15, 2019. Students who submit applications prior to January 15, 2019 will be notified of admission decisions April 9, 2019.

 

  • NC Promise

 

As home to the nation’s first public university, North Carolina has a long-standing commitment to educational opportunity for all residents. The NC Promise Tuition Plan (https://ncpromise.com/) reaffirms the state’s commitment to make the university experience affordable and accessible to all.

Through NC Promise (https://ncpromise.com/), the state has significantly reduced student tuition cost to $500 per semester at three UNC system institutions- Elizabeth City State University, the University, the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, and Western Carolina University – beginning in Fall 2018. The plan will increase educational access, reduce student debt, and grown the state’s economy.

  • Seniors

College application week has been extended through November 16th.

 

Early graduation applications are due to your counselor by October 31st, these ARE NOT for students going to BCC or a community college for the Spring semester.

 

Seniors- Need to have remind so no one will miss important events or scholarship opportunities.

Scholarship Newsletters- Seniors should pick up newsletters in student services or West Brunswick’s website. These newsletters also include important dates.

Any seniors with transcripts wanting to go to a North Carolina school should go through www.cfnc.org for more information. For out of state schools, go to the website of your desired school and request a transcript electronically.

 

  • All Students

Effort awards is November 20th. Students will be notified if they are nominated.

 

AVID introduction is November 1st.

 

AVID’s first fundraiser for Krispy Kreme will start November 2nd.
