Are you College Ready? : FAFSA 🎓

Applying for the FAFSA application to become ‘college ready’

Taliyah Daniels, staff writer

When you have made a decision on three colleges that you may want to attend, tuition and fees is the next big thing that is a factor in becoming college ready. Colleges and universities may offer you scholarships to attend their school, whether the money may cover the full tuition or a partial amount you will need to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). I filled out the application with the help of my mother. I would advise you to fill out the application with your parent so you will know all of the financial information needed to complete the form.

As the cost of college continues to increase, financial aid becomes more important. Although there are many other factors in deciding on the college you’re attending, there is a strong relationship between FAFSA completion and college enrollment.  The FAFSA application opened on October 1. Students apply for the FAFSA in order to receive their share of funds for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year. So, if you are applying for college, know that applying for the FAFSA is an important step into being ‘college ready’.
