For the Love of Dogs: Jax

(Jax now)
(Jax when we first got him)

I remember when my dad showed me a picture of the most adorable Black Lab mix I have ever seen. My dad was just as excited as I was to get him, but we needed to wait until he was a few weeks old for his owner to let us take him. It was a long and anxious wait because I was so excited to see him. My dad and the rest of the family went through names constantly to find the perfect fit for our new little buddy. We all decided to call him Jax.

Picking out dog names can be really hard depending on what the background of the name you might chose. It could be a sentimental name after a family member or a favorite character of a TV show to a lead singer of a some kind of alternative pop band. Whatever you chose make sure you don’t get annoyed with it very quick because you don’t want to have to change your poor dogs name after a month or two. How we chose ours was my dad throwing out a few names but we all really liked Jax. I think he was named after a boxer, but i’m not sure. Just make sure you have the perfect name picked out for you dog.

I remember trying to contain my happy emotions and crying when we met with the owner to pick him up. Jax was the cutest puppy I had ever seen, his little nose that sniffed my face and his puppy breath melted my heart. I knew he was perfect from the time I held his tiny little body and carried him in my arms like a baby.

Now, he is around three years old. Jax is a big boy now with such a rambunctious personality and absolutely loves to sit in my lap, even though he isn’t a lap dog anymore. He is such a good dog, but he is also such a big pain in the butt. Even though he gets on my nerves sometimes, his cute little face and those big eyes of his takes away from all the bad things he’s done. I’m so thankful for my “big and ferocious” puppy.
