On February 1st, West Brunswick Varsity Trojans went head to head against the Topsail Pirates. The game was extremely intense with a tight score throughout all four quarters. A dunk by J’vian McCray sent the crowd into a frenzy, but the basket was not counted. One of the Pirates top scorers fouled out of the game in the final minutes of regular play. The final score of regular play was 65-65, when a layup was made by the Pirates as the buzzer sounded which caused tensions in the gym to spill over. During overtime the Trojans pulled out a victory. The final score was Trojans 79 – Pirates 73.
