Amadis Levasa, Editor-in-Chief
Senior Amadis Levasa was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina where she spent the majority of her childhood before moving to Brunswick County at eight years old where she has been for the rest of her time. She grew up with one younger sibling, moving three times up until 2020 when she and her family finally settled down in Supply, North Carolina. Levasa is a seventeen year old student-athlete and is now spending her final semester in high school as the Co-Editor-in-Chief for the West Wind.
“I’ve always loved writing ever since I was little,” said Levasa. “When I found out about West Wind through a couple of my teammates, I knew I was gonna enjoy being a part of the program.”
Although she does not participate in any clubs at school, Levasa has played all four years as a starter on the women’s lacrosse program. When she is not playing for her school, Levasa spends her summer and fall playing for her club team who she has now spent four seasons playing for, Coastal Rays in Wilmington, North Carolina. Before joining Rays, she spent five seasons playing for her previous club team, Wild Tide in Shallotte, North Carolina.
“Other than writing, lacrosse is my thing,” said Levasa. “I spend the majority of my time with lacrosse, but when I’m not playing lacrosse, I’m hanging out with my friends and family.”
She enjoys traveling and visiting new places, but overall spending time at the beach no matter what season is what she enjoys more than being anywhere else. When Levasa graduates college, she plans on starting her own business as a therapist. She set the goal of majoring in psychology and minoring in business. After accepting one of multiple offers to continue her lacrosse career this August, Levasa has committed to Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC. She will be spending her next four years there and achieving all of her academic goals while succeeding athletically as well.
“I’m excited to do more for our program,” said Levasa. “Writing has always been something I love doing, and I’m hoping to continue writing in college as well.”
