Deliylah Watts

Deliylah Watts, Staff Writer

Deliylah Watts is starting off her sophomore year of High School and first semester in the West Wind. Watts grew up in Calabash, North Carolina, where she spent most of her childhood. She has recently moved to Shallotte, North Carolina temporarily. Watts is the oldest out of her two siblings. She and one of her siblings have lived with their mom their whole life, while unfortunately losing their father August 15, 2022. Watts is a fifteen year old student athlete and this is her first semester in West Wind.

Watts isn’t currently participating in any extracurricular activities,  but she has run track since her freshman year. She is planning to run indoor track this winter and continuing to run in spring. Outside of school and athletics, in her free time she enjoys shopping and spending time with her friends and family.

After graduating high school, Watts wants to go to North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State, in Greensboro, North Carolina. She hasn’t decided on a major, but she has a goal set on getting her masters.

With this being her first semester in the program, Watts is most excited to become a sports photographer in the class. She will be working as a writer as well. She is excited and motivated to grow her writing skills.
