Elizabeth Norfleet is now a senior this year, taking part as an officer in DECA. She believes being involved in DECA has made her become a more vocal person. She has become more confident in her speaking in front of others and has more of a professional way of thinking. Norfleet said that will help her in her path to becoming a woman in business. Being a part of DECA has helped her come out of her shell and be a more social person.
“Being involved in the student body has always been interesting to me,” said Norfleet. “Leadership roles with stuff that affects the school or has some kind of impact in school has always caught my interest because I’m very vocal and opinionated and love to insert my opinions.”
Norfleet has many goals planned out for her future. First of anything, she plans to graduate high school. Her goal is to attend UNCW and major in Business Marketing. At the moment, she is looking at an International Business and minoring in Spanish. She plans to get out of Brunswick County but still be able to return to her home. Overall, she desires to be a mother and have a nice family.
“Doing now, I’d say, is trying to find a happy balance between learning and still having free time during virtual learning.” said Norfleet. “I spend my time on social media, watching Netflix, and spending time with family.”
