17-year-old senior Fernando Bonifacio, born in Wilmington moved to Shallotte when he was young. He enjoys his life here and is passionate about soccer. He plays midfield for the school soccer team and also helps run the team’s Instagram page.

When he grows up, Fernando hopes to continue his soccer career and aim for a professional level, but his main goal is to become a barber. He has participated in the program before and enjoyed it, so he decided to join again this semester. In his free time, Fernando enjoys graphic design and likes to apply his skills to manage the school soccer team’s Instagram page for The West Wind.

Fernando hopes to make The West Wind look simpler and cleaner this semester and bring new ideas to the program. He says, “I enjoy being a part of the program because of the environment and the people.”
