Taylor Hughes, Staff Writer
Taylor Hughes is a current Sophomore. This is her first semester in Journalism. While still new, she is super excited for the upcoming year. Hughes was born and raised in Ash, North Carolina. In her spare time, she enjoys playing a wide variety of sports such as tennis and cheerleading. While being a student athlete she has taken on responsibilities throughout 3 separate clubs FCA, SGA, and HOSA. While still new in high school she has quickly made a name for herself being elected her class president of SGA.
“When I was elected class president it almost felt like impostor syndrome at first,” said Hughes. “ I was scared there was a lot of pressure put on me at first, however, I grew better for it”
Hughes is the youngest of her siblings. She has a brother and a sister both of which are West Brunswick graduates. In her free time, she enjoys going to the beach with friends. Hughes has big plans after high school and hopes to receive a master’s degree and become a Nurse Practitioner.
Her interest in joining the West Wind was sparked through conversations amongst her peers. Many of Hughes’s friends spoke highly of Mrs. Saunders and the West Wind in general.
“After hearing about Journalism I quickly realized it was something I’d be interested in,” said Hughes.
