17 year old senior Tyler Harbin was born and raised in Shallotte. This is Harbin’s third semester in news journalism. His goal is to widen his abilities in broadcasting and writing. After high school, Harbin wants to pursue his passion in collegiate-level soccer.

“I am ready for travel ball and to score all the goals as an egoist.” Said Harbin. “I am a striker.”

When asked why Harbin wanted to join the West Wind, he shared that the class’s TikTok page drew him in when it appeared on his for-you page. Harbin enjoys taking pictures, and journalism is a good class for him because they are required to cover all school events. 

“I really enjoy going to all types of sporting games here at West,” Said Harbin. “I enjoy capturing the passion the players feel during action shots.”
