Senior night is a bittersweet moment for seniors, family, friends, and teammates. On May 8th the women’s varsity soccer team had their last home game against South Brunswick as well as their senior night, there are two seniors on the team: Bella Serrano and Lauren Sturdivant. Both of these seniors have played varsity all four years of high school and have really grown into good teammates and leaders for the younger girls on the team. Sturdivant is a starting midfielder and she is a very good communicator with her teammates on and off the field, Serrano is in the recovering process from tearing her ACL but she has still been a crucial player on the team in leading the younger girls. These seniors are very loved on their team and will be missed.

Brooklyn Coble, Creative Content Team Member
Brookyln Coble is a 16 year old junior who was born in Burlington, North Carolina. Moving here in her 6th grade year. This is Coble’s second year as a staff of the West Wind and she has thoroughly enjoyed learning more about writing but also getting to work in the social media aspect of it. This year Cobles goal is to strengthen her writing abilities, and prepare herself as she hopes to be able to attend the University of North Carolina.
When asked about her reasoning for joining the West Wind, Coble shared that the TikTok page's “Late Night” video is what first drew her in but she soon learned that she enjoyed the people and community created just as much.
“I think everybody in our class is nice,” said Coble. “ Everyone talks to each other, and Mrs Saunders is nice.”
Now Coble plays 4 different sports, including: basketball, soccer, volleyball, and track. When asking Coble about her greatest accomplishment she exclaimed saying
“I’ve been playing varsity sports my whole high school career,” said Coble. “It has really made my experience in high school very memorable but it is tiring.”
