On Monday, November 25th, after a successful semester full of trips to the feeder schools, Leadership made their last stop at Cedar Grove Middle School.
At the reporting time of 10:50, all of Anna Saunders leadership students congregated in her room, dropped off their book bags, and made sure to grab their lunch boxes and water bottles before heading to the activity bus to head to Cedar Grove.
Making their way to the cafeteria, the leadership students passed students celebrating their A and A/B honor rolls with pizza and fun while also passing a display of senior cap and gowns from West Brunswick High School, South Brunswick High School, and the Early College, with the words “Which one will YOU wear?” written above.
As they entered the cafeteria, the environment, though still inviting, was something new in comparison to the previous elementary schools the class had worked with, but still the students spread out and found new people to talk with.
The leadership students and middle schoolers talked and laughed throughout lunch about how they were feeling about middle school, if they were ready for high school and what sports they liked to play.
At the end of lunch, leadership kids caught up with their favorite middle school teachers, while other students went to assist the janitors in clearing leftover trash and wipe down the tables for the next group to arrive.
As the lunches went on, leadership kids went around and interacted and introduced themselves to the next group of kids coming in. When all the lunches were finally over, the janitors put up the remaining tables, and Leadership headed back to the bus before going back to West Brunswick.
“I really enjoyed getting to socialize with the kids,” said sophomore Irene Espiricueta. “It has let me grow as a person and taught me how to adapt to an environment of personalities.
