Since this is West’s first conference game against South Columbus, the stakes are considerably higher under the Friday night lights. West sees it as an opportunity to show off their new skills and set the tone against a team with an incredible football record. The student sections theme for this game is America, in order to pay respect to all the people who died during 911, and both teams are ready for this match and there was a bunch of excitement in the stands.
Each teams players bring skill, and confidence to the field, which will put West’s ability to perform well under stress to the test. Junior quarterback Josiah Borton threw an astonishing four touchdowns and ran a touchdown for himself, getting 300+ total yards. Passing two of the touchdowns to senior K’Veon Griffin shows their true ability to work together on and off the field. This game really marked West’s true potential, as this is one of their best games of the last couple years.
