On October 7th, our JV volleyball team played a tough match against the Ashley Screaming Eagles at 4:30 PM.
West Brunswick came out strong in the first set, using solid serves, accurate passing, and great communication to take the early lead. The team worked really well together, staying focused and playing tough at the net to win the first set. Everyone was full of energy and ready to play. They talked a lot, moved to the ball, and helped each other out on every point. You could tell they were really locked in and working as a team right from the start.
Ashley responded in the second set with stronger serves and even better defense, making it harder for West to respond. Even though the Trojans kept pushing and stayed aggressive, Ashley started to take advantage of a few mistakes the Trojans were making. It was a close set, but Ashley pulled through in the end to tie the match 1-1.
Both teams gave it their all in the third and final set, but in the end, Ashley managed to pull ahead in the last few points and won the match 2-1. Even though West Brunswick didn’t come away with the victory on the scoreboard, the team showed so much heart and hustle throughout the entire match. Every single player gave 100% of their effort and left it all out on the court.
The West Brunswick JV team showed strong teamwork, effort, and heart. The girls fought long and hard throughout the game, cheered each other on from the bench, and celebrated even when they messed up. Every player contributed on the court, whether through blocks, strong attacks, or staying loud and supportive throughout the match. They kept their energy up from the first serve to the final point. Their positivity, hustle, and determination made a big difference and showed how much they’ve grown as a team this season.
This match will definitely be a learning experience that the Trojans can use to grow and improve. With the same amount of heart, effort, and teamwork they showed against Ashley, there’s no doubt they’ll come back even stronger in their next game.
