Joseph Hamric, Staff Writer
Joseph Hamric is a junior and has decided to start his first semester of journalism. Hamric was born in Huntersville, NC, and moved to Ocean Isle Beach shortly after he was born. This is where he and his two siblings have been raised and currently live.
“As I get older and more capable of doing things on my own,” said Hamric. “I find myself on the go more often than not.”
Shortly after the move from inland to the coast, his family began spending the majority of their time at the beach. Hamric was surrounded by the outdoors and found great interest in surfing, fishing and hunting. Although he spends his time outdoors, Hamric is also a two sport athlete competing in both track and football.
He is motivated to obtain a football scholarship to pursue his academic and athletic career at a University. As far as his future, after college he is unsure of the path that lies ahead. Hamric hopes to one day find a well paying job so he can continue living a lifestyle of fishing and hunting.
Hamric found interest in the class when he saw current staff members covering events and capturing great memories. Throughout his schooling he has also had many compliments on his ability to write which further influenced him in joining the class. By taking this class he looks forward to becoming a more developed and advanced writer.
