As the school year comes to an end a pep rally kicks off the summer. The School Spirit committee was created to not only plan a pep rally but increase school spirit throughout the semester. We wanted to have our pep rally in February during basketball season but we had to reschedule. So we decided to wait until May due to prom and spring break. We planned a rock, paper, scissors tournament after seeing another high school do this on Social media. We modified the tournament to fit our schedule due to upcoming final exams. “Leadership is a hands-on class that teaches students many types of leadership skills and how each student can be a stronger leader, ” said Leadership teacher Mrs. Morse. I took over Leadership this year and established committees similar to Mrs. Saunders”.
Students oversaw the competition, from setting up the pep rally and organizing the brackets. It was a good chance for them to get to experience teamwork, and time management. All of the students participating were happy to see their work pays off with such a successful and enjoyable event. It accurately showed the development that has occurred in our Leadership class this semester.
