Jv volleyball 9/30/25
On Tuesday, September 30, our Junior Varsity volleyball team went up against New Hanover in a high-stakes match that kept spectators on edge from start to finish. From the very first serve, the Lady Trojans came out with intensity and focus, taking an early lead that had fans cheering and spirits high. Every point scored was a reflection of the team’s hard work and determination in practice. However, New Hanover slowly began to close the gap, matching the Trojans’ energy play for play. Despite strong serves and smart plays by West, the first set ultimately went to New Hanover after a hard-fought battle.
The second set was even more intense and emotional. Once again, West came out strong, taking an early lead through quick passes and excellent communication. The crowd could feel the momentum building as the Trojans fought fiercely to maintain control. Players dove for every ball, set up clean plays, and made powerful hits that had the gym echoing with applause. But New Hanover refused to back down, catching up point by point until finally pulling ahead at the very end. The set ended narrowly in New Hanover’s favor, but the Lady Trojans’ effort and teamwork were undeniable.
In the final set, our Lady Trojans gave their all, but New Hanover ultimately squeezed ahead. The game ended with a final score of 0-2. While our JV Lady Trojans certainly have much more fighting spirit to give later in the season, they showed they cannot be put down easily. This showed immense coordination, as well as clearly being more than just a team.Communication was strong, and the energy between players never wavered, even when the score tightened. The Trojans fought for every single point, refusing to back down despite the mounting pressure.
What stood out most wasn’t just their skill, but their unity. Every player supported one another—celebrating the great plays and lifting each other up after tough ones. Their chemistry on and off the court is what makes them more than just a team—it makes them a family. The lessons learned from this game will only fuel their drive to improve and come back stronger. With continued practice, determination, and the same level of passion they showed against New Hanover, there’s no doubt that the Lady Trojans will turn that effort into future victories.
