Lauren Nelson, Editor in Chief
Lauren Nelson is 17 years old and is a senior at West. Nelson participates in several sports and clubs. Nelson plays an important role as she contributes to these activities. Nelson plays lacrosse and has also been on the dance team for four years now. One of the many clubs she is in is DECA. She has participated in many of the events that take place with DECA as an officer. Other clubs Nelson contributes to are FCA, NHS, and SGA. Nelson participates in some of her clubs as a social media director. Nelson was the online director in journalism.
“I do a lot of social media for the school including the dance team, journalism, and DECA,” said Nelson. “I help run the social media accounts.”
When Nelson grows up she plans to go into the business field or be an orthodontist. Depending on the career path she chooses Nelson she would like to attend NC State or either UNC-Chapel Hill.
“Being an orthodontist is kinda like a safe career choice because you will always have a job,” said Nelson “My backup plan would be going into business.”
When she is not helping out at the school or during the summer, she not only works but also babysits. When having free time, she enjoys going to the beach and surfing when she gets the chance.
