1/7 Wrestling vs Laney Buccaneers

On Wednesday, January 7th, the West Brunswick Trojans had a tough overall loss against the Laney Buccaneers to start off the New Year.

As student athletes got back into the groove of things with winter semester starting just the day before the wrestlers came to the match ready for their game of the new year. They worked hard over break with early morning practices but still majority loss with a final overall score of 53-12. 

“It was a tough school,” said junior Josh Connick. “While overall we did lose, everyone fought hard and we learned a lot and are excited to go into our next meet.” 

The crowd did not lose energy and momentum once, just like the players. The fans cheered loudly from both schools and encouraged their players. Two kids from the opposing school even got 100 wins of their careers during this meet. 

Overall the Trojans are learning from their defeats and will continue to fight with their next match being away against Topsail on January 14.
