Riley Grissett

Riley Grissett, Assistant Broadcast Director

Senior Riley Grissett was born and raised on a farm in Ash, where Grissett was taught everything she knows from her father. Grissett hopes to travel the world, and experience a whole new reality that staying in your hometown can’t offer.

“The world is too big for me to stay put in this small town,” said Grissett. “I need more, I’m craving an adventure. It would also be cool to witness other cultures and learn different ways people see the world.”

Grissett has been a part of the West Wind for three years now, and some things have changed. This year Grissett is now on the board as an assistant broadcast director. With goals and dreams, they shapeshift and even disintegrate, Grissett can vouch for that, for hers have drastically changed. Grissett has a passion for storytelling and wants to incorporate it into her future career.

“My goal is to go to school for teaching and to study history,” said Grissett.“Now my dream is to execute a new way to teach history, where students will be eager and invested.”

Steadily busy, Grissett makes time for her hobbies, school, friends, family, and lastly work. Grissett works two jobs, helps her father on the family farm, and works at Marshals. Juggling all these things can slow Grissett down, but she refuses to allow it to.

“My friends call me crazy and tell me to slow down, but I live in the moment, I soak up the moments as they come but life isn’t going to wait,” said Grissett. “So after my  shift, I’m living it up with friends and family, the party first,  sleep later.”
