A Night to Remember

Prom is a special day that no teenager ever forgets. It is a day full of new experiences and adventures. On April 14, West Brunswick High School held their prom at the House of Blues in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The theme for this year’s prom was Hollywood. This has been the first year that prom took place at the House of Blues, and many students enjoyed the new atmosphere.

“The setup at the House of Blues was very nice, I liked how there was a lot of space on the dance floor,” said junior Dyna Jeffries.

During prom, there was a stage full of dancers showing off their moves. Many of them were seniors, having fun their last year of high school.

“At first, not many people wanted to dance,” said Jeffries, “but once a group of dancers got on the stage, it pumped up prom.”

For some, the highlight of prom was the decision of prom king and queen. This part of prom is always a nerve wracking time. Natyra Gore was named prom queen and alongside her was Jahi Bell, who was named prom king.

“This was the part of prom I was waiting for,” said prom queen Natyra Gore. “I was so nervous but then when I heard when Mr. Paschal announce my name for prom queen, I was so excited!”

Prom 2018 was definitely a night to remember; for Jeffries, this was one of her favorite school events.

“I loved my experience at prom,” said Jeffries. “I’m already ready for next year’s prom.”
