Caden Coley is a 16-year-old junior born in Wilmington and raised in Brunswick County. This is Coley’s first semester of journalism, and he looks forward to strengthening his writing and social skills. Coley is going into his third season of baseball this spring. After graduation, he plans on going to school to pursue his interest in business and hopes to start his own business.

“I started playing baseball at six and stopped playing at ten,” said Coley. “I picked baseball back up at thirteen and have played ever since.

Outside of school, Coley likes playing video games, practicing his batting skills, fishing, and being with friends.

The West Wind TikTok sparked Coley’s interest in joining journalism, and he hopes to provide new ideas for the page.

“I am excited to get to know what this class is about and learn how to write more efficiently,” said Coley. “I feel it would benefit me in the future.”
