When we think of December, we think of many things: Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and more! It’s almost as though you can hear the sleigh bells and whistle notes that are in every song. Mariah Carey and Bobby Helms have made the holidays memorable by creating classics we sing and dance to each December.

Mariah Carey has created many Christmas hits, such as: “All I Want for Christmas,” and “Oh Santa!” making her the unspoken queen of Christmas music. “All I Want for Christmas” is a part of our playlist because it is the upbeat representation of Christmas. This song makes you want to get up and bust a move with your significant other, or in some cases, your bowl of food!

Everyone loves movies, especially iconic ones like Mean Girls; this very reason is why Bobby Helms’ “Jingle Bell Rock” is a must on our music playlist. Bobby Helms uses a jazzy beat to express his feelings about Christmas time, even saying in his song, “snowing and blowing up bushels of fun,” allowing us to see how cheerful he is toward this time of year.

The playlist, “A West Wind Holiday,” is the opening to all of  December’s holidays. The playlist includes various songs, each carrying its own winter-time emotion. “A West Wind Holiday” makes you feel enthusiastic and super ready for all of the fun that the winter brings. You can find this playlist and others on the West Wind’s Spotify account by typing in “wbhswestwind” into the search bar.
