On Tuesday, March 14th at seven o’clock at night, our men’s varsity lacrosse team traveled to play head to head against Laney. The temperature was below fifty, but that did not slow this team down. Their team worked hard all four quarters and never gave up. Although they did not end up with the win, they were able to hold them off in the second half with a 0-16 final.

This season is the first time for some of the boys on the team, including the player of the game. Starting on defense, junior Tyrieck Woodard, led the team with six ground balls and multiple plays all around the field. Behind him is returning players, senior Tyler Cameron with five ground balls, and sophomore Harrison Doherty with four.

Defense fought a long and hard game, but never let back or stopped fighting. Although the boys may have lost the game physically, but they never lost mentally.

“Our defense played strong the whole game especially the second half,” said junior Tyrieck Woodard. “I think the main thing we need to work on is getting the ball down the field without dropping it and turning the ball over to them, but overall I think we did a good job.”
